When I first came to Canada from Sri Lanka, I didn’t just encounter a new country—I found a new community. From spicy jerk chicken to the rich, comforting taste of curry goat, I was instantly hooked. My love for Caribbean cuisine grew even stronger as I traveled throughout the islands, tasting authentic street food, learning the stories behind the dishes, and understanding how much love and tradition goes into every meal.
